ABOUT OUR MOUNTAIN DOG FAMILY
Humans and Dogs
Our family consists of several humans and a few dogs. We began this Swiss Mountain Dog journey in 2011 with the arrival of our first SwissySaint puppy that came to us from Mountain Dog Manor in Lowville, NY. Edelweiss (Ada) has been our loyal family companion for the past eight years. She is known in the neighborhood for her happy-to-see-you personality and her laying on the porch watching-the-world-go-by attitude. She has been so great that we decided we wanted another SwissySaint.
The opportunity to adopt a SwissySaint with the look of the Swissy intrigued us, so we adopted Gilbert from the same breeder as Ada, in 2015. He is a nephew of Ada.
In 2017 we adopted Rosie from a loving family who could not keep her. They didn't have much information about her ancestry, so we had health tests and DNA tests run. She was confirmed as a pure-bred Saint Bernard and in very good health. She has been a sweet girl and loves to be with the family.
We also have frequent visits from canine friends who belong to our adult children. They are a Great Bernese (Great Pyrenees/Bernese Mountain Dog) and an Australian cattle dog mix.
The family continues with chickens. The dogs have learned that chickens are friends and they don't bother them until it is time to help herd them to the run.
Now we have decided to breed some SwissySaints here in Utah for other families to enjoy and get to know this fairly rare Swiss Mountain Dog Mix.
